Family History

My grandmother, Virginia Powers Twyman, took pride in her ancestry and southern roots and dedicated much time to documenting her genealogical research. When she passed away in February 2001, and left her children various copies of a small printed booklet entitled “As Told To Me”, her life efforts to preserve our family heritage could have stopped there. Instead, my two aunts took on her interest in our family’s past and later passed the baton off to me. I’ll do my best to synthesize the information given to me, to update the research with new findings, and then document it all here, in the Family History section of Roots & Leaves.
